Transform Your Morning, Transform Your Life

Over the past couple years I have transformed the way I start my day.

A couple years ago you would find me waking up 20 minutes before I had to leave, dragging through my day, and feeling like I never got enough done.

I had no energy, no motivation, and definitely did not feel my best.

I’ve always had strong determination, but sometimes it was a struggle to get through what I had to do.

Fast forward to today, I take deliberate steps every morning to work towards being my best self. You can find me waking up 2-3 hours before I have to leave now.

You might be thinking this sounds crazy… but I want to give you a sneak peak into my morning to give you an idea of why this has been so transformational for me.

After I get up, brush my teeth, and get dressed… I feed the dogs. I mean they need fuel too right? 😜

After that I dive into my routine.

1) I start with celery juice.

This one is newer to my routine. You might be one of those people who rolls your eyes at this, but let me tell you… IT WORKS!

I don’t drink celery juice to lose weight. I do it to keep my body and system clean and healthy. I feel better, I go more regularly, and I have more energy (which is something I’ve struggled with for years).

Also, while sleeping we are naturally dehydrated because we are not drinking water. Starting my morning with celery juice hydrates my body!

2) I take 30 minutes for gratitude and personal development.

Over the years personal development has transformed my mindset and motivation. I’m continually learning new ideas and inspiration to be a better person.

I have transformed my mindset and become much more aware of my thoughts. Of course, this is a work in progress. But I have seen SO MUCH PROGRESS since I started!

Gratitude ultimately leads to joy. When you have so much to be grateful for, you will naturally be happy. And we can always find something to be grateful for, no matter our circumstances.

A great book to jump start learning about how all this impacts your life is The 5am Club. In this book you learn the importance of waking up early and starting your day with these vital behaviors.

“Own your morning. Elevate your life.”

3) Time to exercise (usually for about 30 minutes).

Exercise is my anxiety and stress relief. Again, I don’t do this for weight loss, so if that’s the kind of advice you are looking for then you are in the wrong place.

I do it for the feeling. I do it for the relief. I do it to start my day feeling good and taking care of my body.

Exercise IS NOT punishment. Exercise is a BLESSING.

Exercise is all about appreciating the body and taking care of it.

4) Next I take the dogs on a walk.

Of course they need it, but I’ve found that I need it, too. Something about the fresh air refreshes me. I find peace in the fresh air, and spending time with the crazies is nice too 😉

If you feel stuck in the daily grind, take a step out side and see your perspective change in almost an instant.

5) Breakfast.

If you know me, you know you don’t want to see me without food… I’m not a happy camper.

So I never go without breakfast. My usual is oatmeal with cinnamon cooked apples ☺️

Breakfast gives me the fuel to start my day. I need it to focus and do the work that has to be done.

And that’s my morning routine! I hope this gives you an idea of what a morning routine can look like so you can start your own.

Just remember that everyone’s needs are different. You might not need everything on this list to feel your best. You might need to add things or take things away.

Make it your own!!

The important thing is moving and growing.

This is all about growing into your best self and taking care of yourself DAILY.

And if you didn’t notice, this is a morning routine.

Waking up early can be hard, but you are at your best right when you wake up and it’s important to get these important parts of your day in right away.

It takes 21 days to create a habit, and 66 to sustain it. Make the commitment to take care of yourself today, not when you “feel like it.”

Once you start seeing how transformational this can be and how good you will feel, you might even feel EXCITED to wake up early!! I do 😉

You have to take care of yourself to take care of others, so start your day by taking care of yourself.

Let me know if you have any questions. I would love to hear if you have a morning routine or if not, what you would like your morning routine to include!
