Have you ever looked at another woman and asked yourself “why can’t I be more like her?”
I’ve been there.
Growing up I believed I had to have external validation to feel like I was good enough.
I was constantly comparing myself to other girls.
“I want to be skinny like her” or “I want to have toned abs like she does.”
Why was I having these thoughts?
Because society tells us we need to be them.
Society tells us we need to be skinny.
Society tells us we need to have a 6 pack and a thigh gap.
Society tells us we shouldn’t eat carbs or fats.
You want to know the truth about why society says these things….
Money.
Diet culture makes billions of money every year off of ads and products telling women they should look a different way.
These products make women feel like they should be something they are not.
So women can spend their whole lives working to be something they are not.
The truth is…
You are good enough just the way you are.
You don’t need external validation to be good enough.
You don’t need to change who you are to be good enough.
YOU DECIDE WHAT GOOD ENOUGH IS.
Good enough is a feeling. It comes from within.
Good enough comes from a belief in yourself that no one else can give.
You might be thinking, “okay, but how do I get there?”
Here’s 3 things you can do:
- Process your limiting beliefs
Where are your beliefs coming from and why do you believe them?
2. Question society’s intentions
What is the purpose of the product you are using or the message a product is sending?
3. Take care of yourself
The better you feel the more you belief in yourself. Move your body, fuel your body, and take care of your body.
When I finally learned that I don’t need to be who society says, a spark lit inside of me. I no longer was trying to be other people, because who I was was enough.
That is why I am SO passionate about helping other women learn that they are good enough.
I want every woman in the world to know that they are perfect just the way they are.
